Present Perfect Continuous and Simple / Настоящее Совершенное Продолженное и Простое

По причине того, что Perfect, а тем более Continuous, не имеют аналогов в русском языке и являются достаточно сложными для нашего понимания, мы будем рассматривать их ещё несколько уроков и сравнивать с другими временами. Так, сегодня, сравните Present Perfect Continuous и Present Perfect Simple:

Present Perfect Continuous Ann's clothes are covered in paint. She has been painting the ceiling.	Present Perfect Simple The ceiling was white. Now it's blue. She has painted the ceiling.
Главное в этом времени само действие. Нас не интересует закончилось оно или нет, важен сам процесс. В приведённом выше примере действие (окраска потолка) могло быть закончено, а могло и не быть, не это важно.	Здесь, наоборот, важно именно то, что действие закончилось. "Has painted" - это законченное действие. Нас больше интересует результат действия, а не действие само по себе.

Вот, ещё несколько примеров:

My hands are very dirty. I've been repairing the car	The car is OK again now. I've repaired it
She' s been smoking too much recently. She should smoke less.	Somebody has smoked all my sigarettes. The packed is empty.
It's nice to see you again. What have you been doing since we last met?	Where's the book I gave you. What have you done with it?
Where have you been? Have you been playing tennis?	Have you ever played tennis?

Continuous обычно используется в вопросе или ответе на How long (особенно с действием, которое длится до сих пор).	Simple используется с вопросительными словами How much, how many или how many times (законченное действие).
How long have you been reading this book?	How many pages of that book have you read?
Mary is still writing letters. She's been writing letters all day.	Mary has written ten letters today.
They've been playing tennis since 2 o'clock.	They've played tennis three times this week.

Напоминаем, существует целый список глаголов, которые вообще не употребляются в Continuous, например: know / like / believe и т.д.

I've known about it for a long time. (нельзя I've been knowing)

Практика

1) Прочитайте и выберите нужную форму глагола.	Графа для проверки
a. Tom started reading a book two hours ago. He is still reading it and now he is on page 53.

b. Linda is from Australia. She is traveling round Europe at the moment. She began her tour three months ago.

c. Jimmy is a tennis player. He began playing tennis when he was ten years old. This year he is national champion again - for the forth time.

He tennis since he was ten.
d. When they left college, Mary and Sue started making film together. They still films.
They ten films since they left college.

Здесь, наоборот, важно именно то, что действие закончилось. "Has painted" - это законченное действие. Нас больше интересует результат действия, а не действие само по себе.

Вот, ещё несколько примеров:

Continuous обычно используется в вопросе или ответе на How long (особенно с действием, которое длится до сих пор).

Simple используется с вопросительными словами How much, how many или how many times (законченное действие).

How many pages of that book have you read?
